Browns

• WR Josh Gordon reportedly checked himself into rehab following his recent DUI arrest, but is expected to report to training camp on Friday. (Mike Garafolo)

• Former Texas DT Chris Whaley has cleared waivers and has been placed on the Cowboys’ non-football injury list. He’ll redshirt this season. (Calvin Watkins)

Chiefs

• TE Sean McGrath is reportedly considering retirement. He was absent from Thursday’s practice. (Adam Teicher)

Patriots

• NT Vince Wilfork, coming off of a season-ending Achilles injury, has been practicing without restriction. (Mike Reiss)

• HC Sean Payton mentioned Thursday that he expects S Jairus Byrd  to be cleared “sooner [rather] than later.” (Mike Triplett)
