NFL Notes: Browns, Dolphins, Redskins, Vikings

Browns

Browns HC Hue Jackson says he has not written off QB Robert Griffin III and he is still evaluating all his options.

Everything’s premature right now,” Jackson said, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “You guys haven’t heard that from me. So I wouldn’t read into any of that. My job is to continue to evaluate and look just like I told you guys I would. I haven’t come to any conclusions. Everybody else can jump to those conclusions but we’re going to keep looking at this thing.

Dolphins

  • Dolphins executive Mike Tannenbaum said “nothing’s final” regarding QB Ryan Tannehill requiring knee surgery this offseason and the quarterback is “working hard to get healthy.” (Tom Pelissero)
  • Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald writes that the Dolphins will likely select a defensive player with the No. 22 overall pick and mentions they will have to choose from a “bunch” of similarly rated players for their front seven.
  • The Dolphins have scheduled meetings with LB Alex Anzalone, OL Danny Isidora, OL Ethan Pocic, LB Vince Biegel, and TE Evan Engram among others at the Senior Bowl. (Jason Lieser)

Redskins

Redskins president Bruce Allen affirmed that the team’s plans on re-signing QB Kirk Cousins this offseason.

Yeah. Kirk is our quarterback. He’s played well the last two years. I know there’s other speculation, but it doesn’t come from the Redskins,” said Allen, via John Keim of ESPN.

Vikings

  • Although Vikings GM Rick Speilman said he wants RB Adrian Peterson to retire with Minnesota, he still must go through an evaluation process. (Tom Pelissero)
