NFL Notes: Browns, Panthers, Redskins & Saints


  • According to Nate Ulrich, Browns TE Randall Telfer suffered left leg injury during Saturday’s minicamp session. Ulrich adds that Telfer had his hamstring wrapped.


  • Joe Person says that Duke TE Braxton Deaver had a good showing during the Panthers’ rookie minicamp. Person believes Deaver could end up being signed by Carolina. 


  • Aaron Wilson reports that the Redskins have signed undrafted rookie CB Mariel Cooper (Citadel) to a contract.
  • According to John Keim, the Redskins have second-round pick Su’a Cravens working solely at inside linebacker this weekend, even though he’s also listed as safety. Keim adds that Washington’s plan has been to use Cravens as a linebacker in their nickel and dime packages.
  • Keim mentions that undrafted rookie CB Lloyd Carrington was one of the players who stood out in one-on-one work during his tryout for the team.


  • Evan Woodbery reports that the Saints have signed undrafted rookie CB De’Vante Harris (Texas A&M) to a contract on Saturday.
