NFL Notes: Cowboys, Jaguars, Lions, & Patriots

Cowboys

  • Bob Sturm of the Dallas Morning News isn’t convinced that RB Lance Dunbar is a lock to make the Cowboys’ final 53-man roster.
  • However, Strum admits that Dunbar has both experience and special teams ability, which could help his chances.

Jaguars

Jaguars HC Gus Bradley mentioned that RB Storm Johnson has “plateaued a little bit” in offseason workouts.

Storm had been doing really well and then he plateaued a little bit,” Bradley said, via Florida Times Union. “We need to get him going.

Lions

  • Lions second-round OLB Kyle Van Noy admitted that he’s still not quite 100 percent, but he believes he’s in good enough shape to fully participate in OTAs. (Justin Rogers)

Patriots

Patriots S Devin McCourty told reporters after Friday’s OTA session that he wants to remain at safety, rather than move back to cornerback, which some had proposed recently.

I want to play safety, but it’s out of my control so whatever the coaches decide is what it will have to be,” McCourty said, via Steve Silva of the Boston Globe.
