NFL Notes: Draft, Free Agency, Broncos, Packers, & Saints

Draft

• Jason Cole reports that Oklahoma WR Dorial Green-Beckham has been very forthright in interviews and has impressed teams for the most part.

Free Agency

• According to Jason La Canfora, it sounds like 49ers OL Mike Iupati will do “very well” in free agency.
• La Canfora is hearing that RB Frank Gore is seeking $4 million per year in his next contract and his best shot at receiving that kind of salary would be to return to the 49ers.
• La Canfora reports that Redskins QB Robert Griffin III may elect to stay out of the limelight in Washington this offseason.

Broncos

• Broncos GM John Elway said that they want Peyton Manning back, but hasn’t receive a confirmation that he’ll return next season.
• Elway added that: “I believe he’ll be back.“
• Elway reiterated that Manning has “all the time he wants” to decide about returning next year.

Packers

• Packers HC Mike McCarthy said he “definitely wants Bryan Bulaga back” next year.
• McCarthy said he “definitely” believes OLB Julius Peppers will return next year.
• McCarthy stressed the importance of getting RB Eddie Lacy more work next year.
• As for the backup quarterbacks, McCarthy said Scott Tolzien is an “ascending” player.

Saints

• Saints DL Junior Galette and other unnamed teammates have been accused of sexual assault in a civil lawsuit. (New Orleans Times-Picayune)
