NFL Notes: Dwayne Haskins, Drew Lock, Draft

Dwayne Haskins

• NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says he has not heard that Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins is falling in the draft and he still expects Haskins to come off the board before the middle of the first round. 
• Rapoport mentions it’s worth asking if Haskins is falling, what would be the reason? Haskins has reportedly done well in his meetings with teams and no medical or character red flags have come up to potentially push him down boards. 

Drew Lock

An AFC scouting director tells Albert Breer that Missouri QB Drew Lock has won over teams with his personality.

“It’s his demeanor,” said the scouting director. “He’s unflappable, just has a ton of confidence. Part of the issue with rookie quarterbacks, you’re throwing a lot at them, they start to make mistakes, they get in their own head. … You get sense from Lock, he’ll be unfazed by all that. Like he’ll throw three picks in a game, and come back and think he’s the s— still.”

Draft

• Albert Breer says he can’t find many teams that like Ole Miss WR D.K. Metcalf enough to take him in the first round.
• Oklahoma WR Marquise Brown received a positive review during medical rechecks in Indianapolis on his foot as he recovers from a Lisfranc injury. (Rapoport)
• Missouri WR Emanuel Hall had his appointment at Combine re-checks canceled when his sports hernia healed with rehab. (Ian Rapoport)
• TCU DE L.J. Collier visited with the Lions on Wednesday and will visit the Eagles and Seahawks next. (Ian Rapoport) 
• Collier could be a late first or early second-round pick according to Rapoport. 
• UNC-Charlotte OL Nate Davis has visits set up with the Rams, Bears, Bills, Falcons, Titans and Vikings. (Jordan Schultz)
• Idaho LB Kaden Elliss visited the Dolphins Wednesday and Packers Tuesday. He also has visits lined up with the Saints, Ravens and Seahawks with eight in total. (Tom Pelissero)
