NFL Notes: International Games, Rule Change, Dolphins, Lions, & Steelers

International Games

  • The NFL owners approvedย international games being extended through 2025.
  • The league canย now schedule games beyondย outside of the United Kingdom such as Mexico City, Brazil and Germany, which have been proposed in recent weeks.

Rule Change

  • Ian Rapoport reports thatย the NFLย competition committee isย researching a suggestion from Patriots HC Billย Belichick to haveย fixed cameras along every boundary.

Dolphins

  • Albert Breer reports that the the Dolphins “discussed” the possibility of hiringย Jim Schwartz, former-Falcons HCย Mike Smith and former-Bucs HCย Greg Schiano to help with their defense.

Lions

Steelers

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette points out that Steelers QBย Ben Roethlisberger did notย necessarily refute aย report fromย Jason LaCanforaย that he was on track to play against the Chiefs in Week 7.

Instead, allย Roethlisberger said was thatย it did not โ€œcome from me or our doctors.โ€™โ€™

According to Bouchette, any talk ofย Roethlisberger returning to the team is justย conjecture until he’s able to practice.

However,ย Bouchette suggests that Big Ben could be back for the team’s Week 8 match up against the Bengals, which wouldย in the middle of the 4-6 week timetable.
