NFL Notes: Jason Pierre-Paul, Broncos, & Cowboys

Jason Pierre-Paul

Former Giants DE Justin Tuck mentioned that he’s spoke to DE Jason Pierre-Paul since the fireworks accident that cost him his right index finger.

According to Tuck, Pierre-Paul is in good spirits and should be fine for the 2015 season.

“He’ll be the first one to tell you he made a mistake. He’s fine. He’s going to have a great year,” Tuck said, via Jordan Raanan of NJ.com. “…I think he will be [successful],” he said. “Once he gets used to playing again, you can’t deny his athletic ability. He’s a terror to block. Hopefully everything else gets healthy around him and if that is the case, I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t be the JPP of the second half of the season like he was last year.

Broncos

According to Andrew Mason of DenverBroncos.com, rookie WR Jordan Taylor made a “massive impression” during the team’s OTAs and minicamp, and could be one of the “breakout rookies” this year.

He catches everything around him and he’s gone up and made a couple plays on some deep balls, which have stood out,Peyton Manning said of Taylor during minicamp.

Cowboys

Todd Archer of ESPN writes that the Cowboys are hoping that Dez Bryant‘s new five-year, $70 million deal isn’t his last contract in the NFL.

As Archer points out, despite saying that they wanted Bryant to be a member of the Dallas Cowboys for life, Bryant will only be 31 by the time his contract expires in 2019.

Archer mentions that given how Bryant takes care of himself, there is a decent chance that the two sides will eventually negotiate a new contract in 2020 and possibly sooner than that.
