NFL Notes: Jay Cutler, Draft, 49ers, Buccaneers, Ravens

Jay Cutler

Earlier in the day, we took a look at some of the obstacles the Bears face regarding QB Jay Cutler and his contract.

ESPN’s Mike Sando (insider) believes the Bears are stuck with Cutler’s contract for the foreseeable future and will have to continue trying to surround him with talent.

[A]bsent a quarterback they love falling into their laps in the draft (if the season ended today, Chicago would select ninth overall), the Bears are most likely stuck with Cutler as their starting QB the next couple of years, and will have to focus their efforts on building around him — particularly by improving the defense,” writes Sando.
