NFL Notes: Los Angeles, Colts, Jets, & Rams

Los Angeles

According to Jason Cole of B/R, both of the presentations to build stadiums in Los Angles were “very impressive” to NFL owners on Tuesday.

However, there’s a large contingent of owners who support the Carson project just based on the belief that the league should take care of the Chargers and Raiders due to their poor stadiums.

Even so, Cole mentions that there is a “vocal contingent” of supporters in favor of Rams owner Stan Kroenke’s Holleywood park project.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reportedly spoke during the meeting in favor or Kroeke’s project and stressed the importance of an owner having deep pockets when taking on such a large scale project.

Colts

  • Jason Cole of B/R reports that the Colts additions on the offensive side of the ball points to them employing an “aggressive” uptempo changes.
  • In fact, even the defense could use a more uptempo approach this season.
  • Rookie WR Duron Carter has been so impressive that Cole things he would be “at least” a No. 3 receiver on any team, and possibly a No. 1 on a few clubs.

Jets

  • Adam Schefter reports that the Jets are sticking with the three quarterbacks currently on their roster.
  • However, Scehfter adds that the Jets could look to bring in a veteran later on during the preseason.

Rams

Ian Rapoport reports that Rams first-round pick Todd Gurley looks like 100 percent, even though his surgically repaired knee isn’t fully healed.

Rapoport mentions that Gurley will not suit up during the preseason and he isn’t expected to be ready for the beginning of the regular season either, which is really more of a precautionary measure from St. Louis.
