NFL Notes: Minicamps, Cardinals, Eagles, & Lions

Minicamps

• Mike Wilkening of Pro Football Talk writes that the Saints, Chargers, 49ers, Titans and Redskins will hold their organized rookie workouts late next week.
• Herbie Teope adds that the Chiefs are also among the team’s who will open rookie minicamp next week.
• The other 26 teams held their minicamp’s this past weekend.

Cardinals

• Former Alabama and Winston-Salem State QB Phillip Sims tells Matt Zenitz that he has signed with the Cardinals following a successful rookie camp tryout.

Eagles

• According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, veteran WR Riley Cooper “isn’t guaranteed a starting spot” this season.

Lions

• Dave Birkett reports that the Lions signed Fort Hays State S Nathan Lindsey, who was among the players trying out for Detroit.
• The Lions also signed Eastern Illinois WR Erik Lora after rookie minicamp today, according to Birkett.
• Detroit signed Florida State’s Jarred Haggins on Sunday, according to 1st Class Athletes.
