NFL Notes: Randy Gregory, Buccaneers, Giants & Seahawks

Randy Gregory

Cowboy’s executive VP Stephen Jones said (per Jon Machota) of the report that DE Randy Gregory failed another drug test:

“We’re unable, unfortunately, to comment on it. No one is supposed to be able to, but I guess some people do even though they are not supposed to. Obviously those things, until they are officially worked through, all the different moving parts that go with that, we can’t comment on that. … It is a shame because there are serious matters. These are players who are, especially in this particular area, who are fighting n illness. It’s certainly not what was meant by the policy. Who know if it’s even accurate. We certainly don’t at this point.”

Buccaneers

  • Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter told Alex Marvez Friday night that it will “go down to the wire” whether RB Doug Martin plays in Sunday’s game against the Bears.
  • Koetter added that DT Clinton McDonald is expected to be back this Sunday, despite being listed as questionable.

Giants

  • Adam Schefter reports that the NFL determined this week that Giants OT Ereck Flowers did not violate the personal conduct policy when he shoved a reporter several weeks ago.

Seahawks

  • Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said that RB Thomas Rawls had a “really good week” of practice and added that “there’s a chance” he could play against Eagles. (Bob Condotta)
