NFL Notes: Tom Brady, Cowboys, Dolphins

Tom Brady

Patriots QB Tom Brady addressed the comments made by his wife, Gisele Bundchen, that Brady suffered a concussion in 2016, and others before that.

“She’s there every day,” Brady said in an interview on ESPN’s E:60., via Pro Football Talk. “I mean, we go to bed, you know, in the same bed every night. So I think she’s, you know, she knows when I’m sore. She knows when I’m tired. She knows, you know, when I get hit. I mean, we drive home together. But she also knows how well, you know, I take care of myself. She’s a very concerned wife and very loving.”

Cowboys

Cowboys DT Maliek Collins believes he can be more productive in his second season.

“I could’ve been more productive,” Collins said during the Cowboys’ minicamp, via the Star-Telegram. “The types of players I was around — Terrell McClain, Tyrone Crawford, Jack Crawford — all those guys I played around I could have played better.”

Collins added that he plays to compete during training camp and the preseason like he’s an undrafted free agent.

“Nothing is promised,” Collins said. “I’m going to keep competing as if I was at the bottom of the roster. I feel like I am in the bottom. I’m doing things every day to make sure I’m the best. That’s the nature of the game. You’ve got to be a competitor.”

Dolphins

Dolphins HC Adam Gase said that they currently don’t have any major injury issues as they prepare for the start of training camp.

“Right now I’m thinking we don’t have any major issues entering into camp,” Gase said, via James Walker of ESPN. “We’ve got a couple of guys that haven’t done anything.”

“You can’t predict it,” Gase said of potential injuries. “Things have to line up right and you just need to do a good job of executing in camp and putting yourself in position to where, when you get to games, you play better than what we played last year.”
