Waiver Wire

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the top-10 teams in terms of the waiver wire now consists of:

1) Lions
T2) Bears
T2) Saints
4) Ravens
5) Buccaneers
T6) Titans
T6) Redskins
T8) Dolphins
T8) Seahawks
T8) Rams

The Patriots are No. 32 overall.

Cowboys

• ESPN’s Ed Werder admits that the Bears could make even more trades in the coming days, but they’ve yet to speak to the Cowboys about either RB Matt Forte or WR Alshon Jeffrey.

Giants

• Aaron Wilson reports that the Giants have released OL Vinston Painter from their practice squad.

Panthers

• Joe Person reports that the Panthers are not considering placing DE Charles Johnson on short-term injured reserve at this point in time.
• However, Johnson is still expected to miss “several” weeks due to a hamstring injury.

Saints

• Ed Werder reports that Saints QB Drew Brees expects to take his first practice reps on Wednesday, barring any setbacks.
