NFL Rumors: 49ers, Cowboys, Jets, & Titans

49ers

49ers GM Trent Baalke told reporters that they’ve had no contact whatsoever with free agent QB Robert Griffin III or his agent.

We’ve had no contact with Robert (Griffin III) or his agents,” Baalke said, per Paul Gutierrez. “Right now, we’re focused on and some other things. Will there be a time where we could sit down? That certainly could happen. But it hasn’t happened to this point.”

Baalke was also asked about the possibility of re-signing veteran WR Anquan Boldin. However, they’ve yet to speak to him about being back in San Francisco next year.

“Right now, we’ve had no discussions with Anquan up to this point,” Baalke said Tuesday, via CSN Bay Area. “We left it in the offseason that we’d get back together at some point and talk about his future and what he’s looking for. Have not had that conversation as of yet.

Even though there hasn’t been any communication regarding a return, Baalke didn’t rule out him being back.

“I wouldn’t say that door has been shut by any stretch,” Baalke said. “But where it is, it’s where it was when we left off (the season). He’s going to explore his options, and we’re going to explore ours. We got a draft to go through. It would be later than sooner, in terms of the final decision that’s made.”

Cowboys

Jets

  • According to Tony Pauline, the Jets are still shopping franchise DL Muhammad Wilkerson, and could consider drafting Florida DL Jonathan Bullard if they’re able to move Wilkerson.

Titans

Titans GM Jon Robinson mentioned during an interview with ESPN Tuesday that he’s had “a couple of conversations” at the owner’s meetings about trading No. 1 pick, per Adam Schefter.

Robinson added that they’re clearly open to moving to the pick if the right deal comes about.

We’d be open to moving the pick,” Robinson said, per Schefter. “I think the statement I made the other day maybe got taken out of context a little bit with ‘kings random’. … The question was what would it take to move way back in the draft, which would take a lot of picks…I think some heard that I wasn’t open to moving, or we weren’t open to moving the pick, which is not true.”

Meanwhile, Titans HC Mike Mularkey spoke highly of FSU DB Jalen Ramsey.

“If we had to put him at a nickel to play the tight ends that are playing at such a high level, he could do that,” Mularkey said, via David Newton of ESPN. “Like his size. Like the way he tackles. A very aggressive player. That’s rare to have a cover guy who will come up and strike you like he will.

“Smart. A lot of things about him that are impressive about him on tape. And in the interview.”
