Coming into the season it appeared to be inevitable that Mike Holmgren would eventually cut Eric Mangini loose and replace him someone that he felt coincided with his football philosophy. Sunday’s loss to the Bills hasn’t helped Mangini’s chances at returning next season despite the teams improvements.
ESPN’s John Clayton echoes this sediment by mentioning that Mangini’s play calling and decision to go for it on 4th and one at the beginning of the second half could have cost the Browns the game on Sunday despite it being a winnable game.
It would be surprising to see Holmgren make a move during the season but there will be plenty of rumors come January as to who the next coach will be.
