NFL Rumors: Rams Considering Veteran RB’s?

Jeff Gordon of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes that the St Louis Rams could be looking at signing a couple of veteran RB’s to round out their backfield.

The Rams passed on taking a RB in the recent draft so they’ll have to address the position via free agency. The good news for them is that this years group of running backs is fairly deep. St Louis has Steven Jackson as their downhill, bruising back so finding a good speed compliment would make some sense. Darren Sproles is the obvious name but he’s surfaced as a possiblity for a number of teams so they’re likely to have competition for him. Other speculative options could include: Tim Hightower, Jason Snelling or Kevin Smith.
