With the Browns announcing that first-round pick Brandon Weeden will be their starting quarterback for Week 1, it’s expected that the Browns will move quarterback Colt McCoy before the start of the season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter (Insider), some teams “really like” McCoy.ย Schefter suggests the Packers should offer the Browns a fifth-round pick for McCoy to improve their backup situation behind quarterbackย Aaron Rodgers.
McCoy, who was 2010 third-round pick, would be a fit in the Packers West Coast offense. In the event that Rodgers would exit or miss a game, McCoy also has game experience which current Packersย Graham Harrell has none of.
