NT Antonio Garay Still An Option For San Diego

Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune writes that the Chargers do have an offer on the table for NT Antonio Garay, but according to Garayโ€™s agent Drew Rosenhaus, heโ€™s in no rush to sign with a team.

โ€œWeโ€™re still looking for a good home for him,โ€ said Rosenhaus. โ€œWe are maintaining a line of communication with the Chargers. I donโ€™t know how quickly weโ€™ll get a deal done, but I think Antonio is a fine defensive tackle whoโ€™s played extremely well these past two seasons.โ€

Garay, 32, didnโ€™t exactly live up to his amazing 2010 season in which he was rated as the #2 best defensive tackle in the league by Pro Football Focus. The Chargers would have to address the position in the draft should Garay choose to sign elsewhere so Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™ve made a competitive offer to him, but Rosenhaus appears to be willing to shop around for the time being.

โ€œWeโ€™re working hard to find a good fit for him,โ€ Rosenhaus added. โ€œThereโ€™s a number of teams interested in him. Weโ€™re just trying to find the right team at the right number and the right situation.โ€

We have Garay listed as the #27 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
