According to Field Yates, the Packers have restructured DL Dean Lowry‘s contract.
Green Bay converted $3.11 million of Lowry’s 2021 base salary into a signing bonus and added $2.488 million in cap space with the move.
Lowry, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2016. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $2.723 million contract and set to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season when he signed a three-year, $20.325 million extension.
Lowry was set to make base salaries of $4.1 and $4.9 million over the final two years of the deal.
In 2020, Lowry appeared in all 16 games for the Packers and recorded 36 tackles, three sacks and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 79 interior defender out of 126 qualifying players.
