Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Packers are signing DT Kenny Clark to a four-year, $70 million extension on Saturday.
Schefter says the deal includes a $25 million signing bonus and makes him the highest-paid NT in league history and the 12th highest-paid defensive player in the NFL.
Tom Pelissero confirms the news and adds that Clark receives $37 million over the first two years of the agreement.
This new deal ensures Clark remains in Green Bay through the 2024 season.
Signing Clark long term was clearly a priority for Green Bay as they begin to address some of their notable players in line to be free agents next year.
Clark, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Packers back in 2016. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $9.3 million contract when the Packers picked up his fifth-year option.
Clark stands to make a base salary of $7,690,000 for the 2020 season under the fifth-year option.
In 2019, Clark appeared in all 16 games for the Packers and recorded 62 tackles, six sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defense.
