The Green Bay Packers announced Tuesday that they’ve claimed RB Keith Ford off of waivers from the Colts and waived OT Jason Spriggs with an injury designation.
Should Spriggs clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the Packers’ injured serve list.
Typically, players who end up reverting to injured reserve this way are eventually waived with injury settlements, so it’s very possible that this is the end of the line for Spriggs in Green Bay.
Spriggs, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Packers back in 2016. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $5.004 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.13 million for the 2019 season.
Spriggs is in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2018, Spriggs appeared in 13 games for the Packers and made two starts for them.
Ford, 25, signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M in 2018. He was waived coming out of the preseason, but signed to the Bills practice squad before earning a call up to the active roster late in the season.
The Colts signed Ford to a contract a few weeks ago only to cut him loose on Monday.
In 2018, Ford appeared in two games for the Bills and rushed 21 times for 79 yards (3.8 YPC) with no touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 21 yards.
