The Green Bay Packers will allow RB Ryan Grant to test the open market before deciding whether or not to offer him a contract.
“He will hit free agency,” said Grants agent Alan Herman, viaย Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.ย “But they gave us an indication they would like to have him back. I have to sit down with Ryan in the next few days and see what he wants to do. I haven’t talked to him about it yet. I’m sure he’s open to that (returning). On the other hand, being a free agent is enticing.”
Grant, 29, isn’t exactly an explosive running back but he did perform well for them down-the-stretch last season. There’s probably only going to be limited in interest in his services so the Packers may consider him at a reasonable cost but there’s no guaranteeing that he’ll be back.
