Packers Will Allow Ryan Grant To Test The Open Market

The Green Bay Packers will allow RB Ryan Grant to test the open market before deciding whether or not to offer him a contract.

He will hit free agency,” said Grants agent Alan Herman, via Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “But they gave us an indication they would like to have him back. I have to sit down with Ryan in the next few days and see what he wants to do. I haven’t talked to him about it yet. I’m sure he’s open to that (returning). On the other hand, being a free agent is enticing.”

Grant, 29, isn’t exactly an explosive running back but he did perform well for them down-the-stretch last season. There’s probably only going to be limited in interest in his services so the Packers may consider him at a reasonable cost but there’s no guaranteeing that he’ll be back.
