Panthers Announced Eight Formal GM Interview Requests, Will Also Interview Current Exec Dan Morgan

The Carolina Panthers announced on Monday night they have officially requested interviews with eight candidates for their general manager vacancy.

David Newton reports Panthers assistant GM Dan Morgan will also interview for the job and has a legitimate chance to get it. He’s serving as the acting GM right now following the firing of former GM Scott Fitterer.

Between Carolina’s announcement and other reports, here’s the full list of candidates for the team’s GM opening:

  1. Buccaneers assistant GM Mike Greenberg (Requested Interview)
  2. Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown (Requested Interview)
  3. Chiefs VP of football operations Brandt Tilis (Requested Interview)
  4. Eagles assistant GM Alec Halaby (Requested Interview)
  5. Raiders GM Champ Kelly (Requested Interview)
  6. Saints Assistant GM/VP of Football Operations Khai Harley (Requested Interview)
  7. Colts Assistant GM Ed Dodds (Requested Interview)
  8. Ravens VP of Football Administration Nick Matteo (Requested Interview)
  9. Cowboys VP of Player Personnel Will McClay (Requested Interview)
  10. Panthers assistant GM Dan Morgan

Morgan, 42, is a former first-round pick of the Panthers back in 2011. He played nine seasons in the NFL for the Panthers and Saints.

The Bills hired Morgan as their Director of Player Personnel in 2018. He joined the Panthers in 2021 as the assistant GM.
