Panthers Aren’t Shopping WR Curtis Samuel

According to Joe Person, the Panthers are not shopping WR Curtis Samuel in trade talks.

Samuel had been the subject of some trade speculation after Carolina went out and signed WR Robby Anderson to a two-year, $20 million deal, presumably to start across from WR D.J. Moore.

While Person doesn’t rule out Carolina eventually dealing Samuel, he points out the plan this offseason has been to add more weapons around new starting QB Teddy Bridgewater

Samuel, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Panthers back in 2017. Samuel is entering the final year of his four-year contract worth $6,453,660, including a signing bonus of $2,833,572, and stands to make a base salary of $1.22 million in 2020.

In 2019, Samuel appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and caught 54 passes for 627 yards receiving and six touchdowns to go along with 130 yards rushing on 19 carries and another touchdown.

We’ll have more on Samuel and the Panthers as the news is available.
