Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera referred to running back Jonathan Stewart as a “big part of what [they] want to do as an offense,” via theย Charlotte Observer.
The comment comes after the Panthers had an awful day on the ground in their season-opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, compiling just ten total rushing yards in a game which Stewart missed through injury.
“He’s getting treatment,” Rivera said. “We’ll see how he is.”
Stewart should be considered questionable at this point for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
