Update:
Ian Rapoport reports that free agent DT Gerald McCoy will travel to Carolina Thursday night and with the Panthers into Friday.
After that, Rapoport says that McCoy will presumably make a decision between the Panthers, Browns and Ravens.
Joe Person is reporting that the Panthers will, in fact, host free agent DT Gerald McCoy for a visit this week.
This comes shortly after Person reported that the Panthers’ interest McCoy has “intensified.”
McCoy has reportedly wrapped up his visit with the Ravens on Wednesday and while they’re still interested in getting a deal done, Ian Rapoport says that Baltimore “isn’t going to do something that’s out of their price range.”
McCoy, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2010. He was in the fifth year of his seven-year, $95.2 million contract and set to make a base salary of $13 million in 2019 when the Buccaneers released him.
In 2018, McCoy appeared in 14 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 28 tackles, six sacks, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 interior defender out of 112 qualifying players.
We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
