The Panthers also signed CB Josh Hawkins, DT Mike Panasiuk, DE Greg Roberts, and RB Michael Warren to the unit.

Here’s the Panthers updated practice squad:

  4. WR Ishmael Hyman
  5. DB Natrell Jamerson

  12. RB Pete Guerriero
  13. RB Rodney Smith
  14. CB Josh Hawkins
  15. DT Mike Panasiuk
  16.  DE Greg Roberts
  17. RB Michael Warren

Burris suffered a rib injury this past weekend against the Bears. He’ll now be out a minimum of three weeks but Person says his injury isn’t considered season-ending.

Burris, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Jets back in 2016 out of NC State. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2.89 million contract when the Jets waived him in October of 2018.

The Jets re-signed Burris to their practice squad after he cleared waivers but was signed by the Browns off their taxi squad after a week. Cleveland declined to tender a qualifying offer to Burris last year, but later re-signed him to a one-year, $645,000 deal.

Burris signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Panthers in free agency this offseason.

In 2020, Burris has appeared in six games for the Panthers and recorded 24 tackles, one interception and two pass defenses.
