Panthers Sign Former Second-Round Pick WR Stephen Hill To A Future’s Contract

The Carolina Panthers have signed former Jets second-round pick WR Stephen Hill to a future/reserve contract on Wednesday.

Hill, 23, was waived as the Jets made their final roster cuts to get down to 53 players back in September. Unfortunately for Hill, he wound up passing through waivers unclaimed, but later signed on to the Panthers practice squad.

There was some speculation that Carolina could promote him to their active roster in recent weeks. However, that move wasn’t made and Hill didn’t appear in a single game this season.

Last year, Hill appeared in 12 games and caught 24 passes for 342 yards receiving and a touchdown.

He’ll get an opportunity to compete for a roster spot in training camp this summer.
