Patrick Peterson Says He’s Focused On Helping Cardinals Turn Things Around

Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson posted a statement on his Twitter account Wednesday saying that he’s “focused on being part of the solution.”

On Monday, Adam Schefter reported that Peterson has requested that the team trade him before the upcoming deadline. According to Schefter, Peterson feels as if the situation in Arizona has deteriorated and he has reaffirmed to others that he “desperately” wants out.

It’s worth mentioning that the Cardinals have publicly said that they’re not interested in trading Peterson, even though he reportedly requested a trade out of Arizona.

Peterson, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2011. He’s currently in the fifth year of his seven-year, $83.02 million that included $48 million guaranteed and set to make base salaries of $11 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Peterson has appeared in six games for the Cardinals and recorded 29 tackles, one sack, an interception, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses.

We’ll have more regarding Peterson as the news is available.
