Patriots CB Alfonzo Dennard Convicted Of Felony Assault

Lori Pilger of theย Lincoln Journal Star reports that Patriots CBย Alfonzo Dennard was convicted of felony assault on a police officer on Wednesday.

Pilger adds thatย Dennard will beย sentencedย onย Aprilย 11 and could face up to 6 years in jail.

Tom Curranย mentionsย that the best case scenario forย Dennard is that he receives a fine and no jail time.

Dennard reportedly pushed and punchedย intervening police officer in the jaw during a fight at aย Nebraska bar last April. To make matters worse, it happened shortly before last year’s NFL draft, which resulted in him being taken in the seventh round by New England.

There’s a good chance that couldย Dennard be suspended by the league as well.
