Patriots Place DT Byron Cowart On COVID-19 List

The New England Patriots officially placed DT Byron Cowart on the COVID-19 list on Monday, according to Albert Breer. 

The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.

Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.

Cowart, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2019. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.8 million contract.

In 2020, Cowart has appeared in eight games for the Patriots and recorded eight tackles and no sacks.
