- Tom Curran adds that the Patriots are promoting OL Ted Karras to their active roster.
- According to Mike Reiss, the Patriots signed DB Jomal Wiltz to their practice squad.

Mitchell, 24, was taken in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $2.917 million contract that included a $577,992 signing bonus with the Patriots and stands to make a base salary of $540,000 for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Mitchell appeared in 14 games for the Patriots and caught 32 passes for 401 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
