The New England Patriots announced Saturday that they’ve promoted FB Jakob Johnson to their active roster.
The Patriots had an open roster spot after releasing WR Antonio Brown on Friday.
Johnson, 24, joined the Patriots as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program this past April. He agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Patriots.
Johnson played for the Stuttgart Scorpions of the German Football League.
During the preseason, Johnson caught two passes for 14 yards receiving and no touchdowns over the course of four games.
