According to Ian Rapoport, the Patriots are re-signing QB Cody Kessler.
Kessler was with New England briefly earlier this season before being released.
Kessler, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Browns back in 2016. The Browns traded Kessler to the Jaguars last year for a 2019 seventh-round pick.
Kessler was in the final year of his four-year, $3.3 million contract and set to make base salaries of $912,147 for the 2019 season when the Jaguars waived him in May. He caught on with the Eagles but was waived again coming out of training camp and signed on with the Patriots a few weeks into the regular season.
In 2018, Kessler appeared in five games for the Jaguars and completed 64.9 percent of his passes for 709 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 123.
