The New England Patriots brought in five players for tryouts on Friday including former Seahawks WR Amara Darboh, according to Mike Reiss.
The full list of tryouts for the Patriots includes:
- WR Deontay Burnett
- WR Amara Darboh
- WR Anthony Johnson
- WR Spencer Schnell
- QB Mike White
Darboh, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2017. He was entering the third year of his four-year, $3.175 million contract when the Seahawks waived him coming out of the preseason last year.
The Patriots later claimed Darboh off of waivers. However, he lasted just a week in New England before he was waived with a failed physical designation.
Darboh’s contract was reinstated with Seattle and he reverted to their injured reserve. The Seahawks once again placed him on waivers last week.
In 2017, Darboh appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks and caught eight passes for 71 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
Burnett, 21, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of USC back in May of last year. He was among Tennessee’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and later signed on to the Jets’ practice squad soon after.
The Jets brought Burnett back on an exclusive rights contract this past March only to waive him last week.
In 2018, Burnett appeared in five games for the Jets and caught 10 passes for 143 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
