The New England Patriots officially waived OL Nate Theaker from injured reserve with a settlement on Wednesday.
Theaker, 24, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Wayne State (MI) back in May of last year. He waived coming out of the preseason and later added to the Cowboys’ practice squad.
The Saints eventually signed Theaker to their taxi squad in October and brought him back on a futures contract this past January. New Orleans waived him following this year’s draft and he signed a contract with the Patriots in July.
However, New England placed Theaker on waivers last week with an injury designation and he later reverted to their injured reserve after going unclaimed.
Theaker has yet to appear in an NFL game.
