According to Howard Balzer, the Patriots worked out OT Marshall Newhouse and CB Nate Brooks this week.
Newhouse, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Packers back in 2010. He spent three years with the Packers before signing a one-year contract with the Bengals back in March of 2013.
Newhouse spent a couple of years with the Giants before agreeing to a two-year, $3.5 million contract $1.55 million in 2017 with the Raiders. He was set to make a base salary of $1.55 million for the 2018 season when Oakland cut him loose.
The Bills later signed Newhouse to a contract. After three games, the Bills traded Newhouse to the Panthers for a conditional 2021 seventh-round pick. He finished out the final year of his contract in Carolina before signing with the Saints as an unrestricted free agent back in May.
He was among New Orleans’ final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.
In 2018, Newhouse was active in 11 games for the Panthers and started two.
