According to Ian Rapoport, the Patriots are working out free agent WRย Jeremy Kerley on Wednesday, as they continue to look for help at receiver.
Kerley, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Jets back in 2011. He spent five years in New York before he was released back in March of last year and later signed to a one-year contract worth over $1 million by the Lions.
Detroit elected to trade Kerley to the 49ers in exchange for OL Brandon Thomasย coming out of the preseason in 2016.
The 49ers signed Kerley to a three-year, $10.5 million deal that included a $1.7 million signing bonus last year only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason. Kerley spent a year with the Jets before signing a one-year deal with the Bills back in April.
Unfortunately, Buffalo released him a few weeks ago.
In 2017, Kerley appeared in eight games and caught 22 passes for 217 yards receiving and one touchdown.
