Vikings HC Leslie Frazier said that Harvin was placed on IR because he wasn’t making progress and that the pass catcher won’t require surgery.
Such bodes well for Harvin’s future, considering the wideout won’t have to rebound from any surgeries this offseason and can simply focus on improving rather than recovering.

Vikings WR Percy Harvin was disappointed about his injury and his resulting trip to the injured reserve list, according to Tom Pelissero of ESPN.

According to Tom Pelissero of ESPN, Vikings WR Percy Harvin has been placed on the injured/reserved list and is now officially done for the season.

According to Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN Twin Cites, “there are other issues besides the ankle at play,” in regards to the Vikings handling of Percy Harvin.
“Has anything changed over the past week? ‘Not a whole lot,’ Frazier answered Pelissero. So, it’s the same situation? ‘Pretty much. There are some things — just go to see what’s going to happen with,’ Frazier answered,” writes Pelissero. “That could indicate Harvin is contemplating surgery, although his history suggests there could be another issue at play altogether.”
Pelissero wouldn’t take a guess at what the other issues might be, but says surgery could be possibility for Harvin as it was revealed Tuesday that he suffered a compete tear of a ligament in his ankle.

According to Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier, it’s “hard to say” if wide receiver Percy Harvin will play again this season, per Tom Pelissero.
Frazier says Jared Allen will be limited today. Percy Harvin is NOT practicing after all. Is Harvin’s season over? “Hard to say.” #Vikings

Harvin’s ankle injury that he suffered in Week 9 appears to be much more serious than previously thought. He won’t be able to practice Wednesday and it looks as though he could have a ligament tear in that ankle. This is bad news for the struggling Christian Ponder and the Vikings passing attack. If Harvin is out, the Vikings, who couldn’t move the ball through the air last Sunday despite a 210 yard rushing effort from Adrian Peterson, will have their work cut out for them for the remainder of the season as they will play some of the league’s better pass defenses.
