Adam Schefter reports that while Raiders HC Jon Gruden has said that they “are not trading anyone else,” LB Bruce Irvin and S Karl Joseph have both come up in trade conversations with other teams and either could be dealt by the upcoming deadline.
Schefter adds that Irvin is the kind of pass rusher that teams covet, but no teams have been willing to take on the $8 million base salary he’s owed this season and another $9 million in 2019.
Irvin, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2012. He spent four years in Seattle before signing a four-year, $37 million contract that included $19 million guaranteed with the Raiders in 2016.
Irvin stands to make base salaries of $8 million and $9 million over the remaining two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Irvin has appeared in six games for the Raiders and recorded six tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble.
Joseph, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Raiders back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $11.88 million contract and set to make base salaries of $1.53 million and $2.07 million over the next two years of the agreement.
The Raiders have a fifth-year to pick up on Joseph in 2019.
In 2018, Joseph has appeared in three games for the Raiders, but has yet to record a statistic.
