Raiders Release OT Marshall Newhouse

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Raiders have officially released veteran OT Marshall Newhouse on Monday.

Newhouse, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Packers back in 2010. He spent three years with the Packers before signing a one-year contract with the Bengals back in March of 2013.

Newhouse spent a few years with the Giants before agreeing to a two-year, $3.5 million contract $1.55 million in 2017. He was set to make a base salary of $1.55 million for the 2018 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Newhouse will free up $2,250,000 of available cap space while creating no dead money.

In 2017, Newhouse appeared in 14 games for the Raiders and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 65 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
