Raiders Sign TE Eric Tomlinson, DL Olsen Pierre, Promote CB Nick Nelson

The Raiders announced on Wednesday they have signed TE Eric Tomlinson and DL Olsen Pierre to the active roster and promoted CB Nick Nelson from the practice squad.

Oakland also signed TE Paul Butler, LB Te’von Coney and OL Kyle Kalis to the team’s practice squad and released TE Cole Wick.

Tomlinson, 27, originally signed on with the Eagles in 2015 as an undrafted free agent out of UTEP. He was unfortunately among their final roster cuts, but later signed a future/reserve deal with the Texans.

Houston waived Tomlinson at the start of the 2016 regular season and he was later signed off of their practice squad by the Jets before eventually being added to their active roster.

New York declined to tender Tomlinson a restricted offer this offseason and he later had a brief stint with the Jets before signing on with the Giants soon after. He was released and had a brief stint with the Patriots earlier this year.

In 2019, Tomlinson has appeared in three games for the Giants and one game for the Patriots, catching one passs for one yard.

Pierre, 28, originally signed on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in 2015. Chicago decided to waive him after a few months and he caught on with the Cardinals’ practice squad.

Arizona brought Pierre back on exclusive rights deals each of the past two years. He signed as a free agent with the Giants this offseason before being released a few weeks ago.

In 2019, Pierre appeared in nine games for the Giants and recorded eight tackles and two sacks.
