The Oakland Raiders officially waived five players on Tuesday including RB James Butler, LB Cayson Collins, WR Rashard Davis, G Cameron Hunt, and WR De’Mornay Pierson-El.
Collins, 23, wound up signing on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina in 2018. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Dolphins, but was unfortunately waived coming out of the preseason.
The Raiders signed Collins to their practice squad back in October but released him soon after. They re-signed him to a futures deal in 2019.
Collins has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Davis, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of James Madison back in 2018. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Eagles cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
Davis has been on and off of the Eagles’ practice squad this season.
Butler, 24, wound up going undrafted in 2018 out of Iowa. Butler tried out for the Redskins during their rookie minicamp but wasn’t signed to a contract afterward. The Raiders signed him in July, but cut him at the end of the preseason.
Butler ended up back on the Raiders practice squad for 2018. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Hunt, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon back in May of 2017. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Broncos cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
Hunt eventually caught on with the 49ers towards the end of the season. The Raiders signed him to a one-year deal, then released him before the end of the preseason, though Hunt later signed back to the team near the end of 2018.
Hunt has yet to appear in an NFL game.
