Rams HC Sean McVay announced Friday that RB Todd Gurley is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the 49ers and CB Aqib Talib is out for the contest.
Gurley is dealing with a quad injury that has prevented him from practicing in recent days. The Rams will likely turn to Malcolm Brown and rookie Darrell Henderson with Gurley’s status in doubt.
Gurley, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2015. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $13.823 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $2.31 million for the 2018 season when the Rams picked up his fifth-year option last year.
Gurley later agreed to a new four-year extension worth $60 million and includes $45 million guaranteed with the Rams a few months later.
In 2019, Gurley has appeared in five games for the Rams and rushed for 270 yards on 64 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 14 receptions for 68 yards receiving and five total touchdowns.
