Rams Matching Lions’ Offer Sheet To RFA RB Malcolm Brown

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Rams will match the two-year, $3.25 million offer sheet RFA RB Malcolm Brown signed with the Lions.

Brown receives a $100K signing bonus and $1 million guaranteed as part of this deal.

The Rams used a low-round tender on Brown, which is a one-year, $2.025 million deal, but they would not have received any compensation for him if they declined to match the Lions’ offer.

Brown, 25, signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in 2015. He was promoted from their practice squad later that year and finished his three-year contract with the team.

Los Angeles re-signed him to a one-year exclusive rights contract in the 2018 offseason.

In 2018, Brown appeared in 12 games for the Rams and recorded 43 rush attempts for 212 yards (4.9 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 52 yards receiving (10.4 YPC) and one touchdown.
