ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Rams’ officials plan to meet with quarterbacks Jared Goff and Carson Wentz before the start of the draft on April to help determine who will be the No. 1 overall pick.
There have been conflicting reports regarding who the Rams are targeting after theyย sentย twoย first rounders, two second rounders and two third rounders to the Titans for the No. 1 pick.
However, many aren’t buying the notion that Los Angeles gave up that many picks without knowing who will be the first pick.
Rams HC Jeff Fisher confirmed that they’ve already held private workouts with both Goff and Wentz back in February.
“We’ve also done private workouts with Jared and with Carson already,” Fisher said. “We did those at the end of February, early March. We were the first ones in. We’re familiar with both of them, in addition to those other prospects on this roster. So, the skill sets are different, the personalities are different, the background is different, the competition is different, and that’s what makes this such a challenge.”
The big loser in all of this is Case Keenum, whom the Rams have said they plan to have open training camp as their starter. Also, it’s likely they move on from Nick Foles in the coming months.
We’ll have more regarding the Rams and the No. 1 overall pick as the news is available.
