Rams Re-Sign DT Tyrunn Walker, Waive DT A.J. Jefferson

The Los Angeles Rams announced that they’ve re-signed DT Tyrunn Walker on Wednesday and waived DT A.J. Jefferson.

Walker was cleared of all wrongdoing in the sexual assault allegations that led to his release a few months ago.

Walker, 27, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Tulsa back in 2012. After two years in New Orleans, Walker signed a one-year, $1.75 million deal with the Lions back in March of 2015 and later returned to Detroit on another one-year contract.

The Rams signed Walker to a one-year, $775,000 contract this past March but was released soon after the sexual assault allegations surfaced.

In 2016, Walker appeared in 15 games for the Lions and recorded 24 tackles, no sacks and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 77 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.
