The St. Louis Rams placedย S Christian Bryant on waivers Friday and promoted RB Trey Watts to their active roster, according to the NFL transactions release.
Bryant, 23, is a former seventh round pick of the Rams back in May of last year. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason last year, but wound up being added to their practice squad.
St. Louis elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract in December of last year, but he was once again added to their practice squad following roster cuts.
Bryant has appeared in two games, but has yet to record a single statistic.
Watts, 24, signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Tulsa back in May of last year. St. Louis elected to waive Wattsย a few weeks, but later signed to their practice squad after he cleared waivers.
Last year, Watts appeared in 14 games for the Rams and ran for 30 yards on seven carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with three receptions for 18 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
